My birthday

When it was the holidays my mum and her friend Rachel planned a pool party for my birthday but I didn't know that mum and Rachel planned a pool party for me. When it was Thursday Rachel took me and my friend to the op shop. When we got there we looked around the shop and we saw toys like cuddly bears , dolls , clothes and material to make clothes. Then Rachel said let's go to the park then she said can you tell me where the park is. When we got to the park I told her that up the hill is where the pools are then she drove up the hill. She parked her car by the pool and I said why are we here? She said that I am trying to find your mum then she said get out of the car and when I got out of the car I saw my friends car after seeing the car things started feeling suspicious. Rachel said follow me we started walking into the pools then I saw my cousin and my friends I was speechless. Then mum said I can go in the pool. I felt so surprised that I couldn't say anything. It was the best feeling to be surprised.

My Run Away

This is a story I made about refugees and there journey to safety.

My Run Away - By Joanna

When I was six years old my friend and I were playing in the back yard when we heard guns. My friends mum said come inside. We ran inside the house my friends mum tried to call my mum. She didn't answer the phone so my friend had to share her clothes with me.

When it was night time I had to run away with my friends mum and dad we went at night so then the baddies won't get us.

I was so scared my friend's mum said don't be scared we will find your family. We were hiding in the bushes.

It took five days to get to the boat, but we got there. We hopped in the boat. There were so many people in the boat I thought the boat would sink but it didn't. Then we heard a noise, it was pirates people were screaming the pirates were shooting guns at us there were so many people that got hurt from the guns.

The next day we arrived at the refugee camp I was so relieved that we were at the refugee camp. Then I saw my family walking by their tent. I was so happy to see them.

I spent eleven days as a refugee. We finally got to New Zealand. It was amazing.

earthquakes

We've had some earthquakes lately. So we have done research on earthquakes.

My Cat

One cold night, during lockdown we were getting ready for dinner. We heard a noise. It was my cat Gingy.

We saw that our cat had a wound on his head. So my mum and I put on some gloves to clean his wound with cotton wool buds and water. Mum also put on the cream she’d made with kawa kawa leaves for wounds. Mum and I saw that Gingy had been bitten on the head. Mum could see the two bite marks were close to each other.

For about a week, Mum had to make sure that the wound didn't get infected because we could not treat the wound if it was infected.

Now Gingy's wound is getting better, which is good news!
